Business partner do not have to align the format and structure of the messages as they can use the standard format instead.

GS1 eCom standards are based on globally recognized GS1 Identification Keys (GTIN, GLN, SSCC etc.) also used for the physical identification of items, allowing a direct link between physical flow of goods and their-related information.
